Workout Wednesday

Staying in shape is important, but not always the easiest thing to do. I try to get myself to the gym at least 4 times a week. I alternate days of cardio & weight training. But every so often, I run into that old friend, laziness. Today, I've put together a few of my favorite lazy day tips for you guys. ENJOY!

1. When waiting at a stoplight, hold in your abs until the light turns green.
- The time you spend sitting there & waiting can be turned into a quick ab exercise.
2. During commercial breaks, choose one commercial at random & contract your abs for the entire commercial.
- You can't feel any lazier than when you sit in front of a television like a complete couch potato. Turn this relaxing past time into a more productive one. Your body & especially your abs, will thank you.
3. When using public restrooms, squat over the toilet.
- Public bathrooms are filthy anyway. Why would you want to let your hands, or your booty, for that matter, touch a surface that could be harboring bacteria? Do toilet seat covers really do much justice? Work your thighs & glutes instead! Squeeze those buns as you squat & you'll burn a few extra calories.
4. Take the stairs!
- Do I really have to explain?
5. It's OK to park you car far away from your destination.
- I know you've seen people drive around & around a parking lot waiting for that perfect spot close to the entrance, but is it really that worth it to you to not have to walk a few more feet? Those extra steps you take can add up over time, & they can only do more good for your health than harm.

It's okay to be lazy sometimes, but do your best to keep your body moving!
