Spring Fashion: Coral & Mint

“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.”
― Pablo Neruda

Now that Spring has finally arrived, I'm eager to dress for the sunshine and take long strolls through the park with my dogs. Being out in the crisp, fresh air, passing by trees covered with cherry blossoms makes me smile. I love incorporating bright colors to an otherwise neutral color palette, whether through your makeup, nail color, or accessories. In today's outfit, I've decided to pair two of my favorite Springtime hues, coral and mint.

Coral & Mint

These two complimentary colors are the perfect embodiment of Spring to me. Paired together, they create a feeling of peace and joy. In terms of Beauty products, coral and mint nails are a recurring favorite of mine for the season. Here, I've included Essie's Mint Candy Apple and Tart Deco. Also, Benefit Cosmetics carries two of my favorite coral lip and cheek products, Coralista.

For the outfit, I've paired a cream crop top and a coral circle skirt, matched with a beige clutch and heeled sandals. As for jewelry, I've chosen gold and mint statement earrings. Classically feminine, this look is ideal for a ladies brunch, afternoon tea, or a baby/bridal shower.

What are you looking forward to this Spring? Any special occasions coming up? Let me know in a comment below! :)

03.29.2014 - The Inaugural Livermore Half Marathon

If you follow me on my social media channels, you'll already know that I've spent the past couple of months training for my very 1st Half Marathon. After my Tinker Bell 10K this past January, I did not expect to run a Half-Marathon until May. But my sister was invited to run the Inaugural Livermore Half-Marathon by her co-worker, so we both decided to sign-up. Despite being told that two months wasn't enough time to train, I decided that I'd defy the odds. I've trained as hard as I can, and I know that I am well-prepared and plan to have a good race.

My race is at 8:00am this Saturday, March 29th, 2014. If you're curious, you can see the 13.1 mile course map here. With only 4 more days til race day, I've already started tapering down my week day runs to rest up before Saturday. I'm so excited for packet pick-up on Friday, and race day itself! :)

Also, you may have seen on Instagram that I recently purchased a medal display for my race medals from York Sign Shop on Etsy.com. I've been wanting a medal display for quite some time now. The more races I run, the more proud I am when seeing my race medals. I want to display them proudly considering how far I've come with running. It's still hard to believe that a couple of years ago, I trained to run a 5K (3.1 miles). Now, my short runs during the week are 3 to 5 miles.

I'm so excited to FINALLY cross that finish line on Saturday morning and be able to add my very 1st Half-Marathon medal to my medal display along with my running bib! :)

Are you a runner? Are you training for any races in the near future? Let me know in a comment below!

How to Improve your ipsyMatch Results! (INTERNATIONAL GIVEAWAY)

I enjoy watching ipsy review videos every month. (If you're not familiar with ipsy,  learn more here!) It's so much fun seeing ipsters' first reactions and feedback on the current month's Glam Bag. Unfortunately, I feel for those of you who are unhappy with your products and overall ipsyMatch results. I want you all to enjoy your Glam Bag products, so I decided to share how you can improve your ipsyMatch results!

First of all, ipsy customizes bags using our ipsyMatch algorithm, which takes results from your beauty quiz and product reviews to optimize your bag.
Here’s what you can do to make sure you get the most out of your bag:
RETAKE YOUR BEAUTY QUIZMake sure your style and preferences are updated, and be sure to select only the most relevant answers (less is more!) This way, ipsy has a clearer idea of your true "style." Also, the quiz is currently structured for you to indicate your favorite types of items, not to indicate items that you don’t want. That's why you can receive some things that you don't select. There's currently no way to completely opt out of certain items.

REVIEW YOUR ITEMS: The more information about what you like and what you don’t like, the better!  Let us know what brands and items you love, and let us know what you'd prefer to not receive in the future.

Also, be aware that ipsy tries to match the themes and products for our Glam Bags based on the season and time of the year. For example, this month’s theme is “Destination Beauty”. Whether you're off to an exotic location or hanging out at home, this month's products were chosen to make you feel like you're on an amazing vacation.
Lastly, remember that part of the excitement of ipsy is discovering new things!
