I Do What I Want

With the help of my amazing co-worker and photographer, Christine Hanks, I bring you today's outfit. If you can't already tell by the title, I decided to channel my favorite Marvel super villain, Loki, when putting these pieces together. Much like Loki, when it comes to my personal style, I do what I want! ;D

My LUSH Neoprene Sweater from LeTote is in Loki's signature colors, with the black sleeves, green breast, and gold zippered detailing. For a more girly look to contrast with the structure of the sweater, I decided to pair it with a black circle skirt from H&M.

I added my NOIR Luxe Eye of the Night necklace also from LeTote for a touch of feminine sparkle to my look. I love the way it really brings together the whole ensemble, pulling together the gold hardware.

On my feet, I'm wearing my favorite gold toed, pointed flats from Cathy Jean. They're unfortunately not available online, but you may still be able to find them in stores.

I know my outfit of the day posts are now coming few and far between, but I promise to do my best to share my style with you whenever I can! :)

I'm So Fancy

Even if I don't plan on working out, majority of my every day outfits include fitness attire. There's just something about wearing leggings and a tank top that make you feel comfortable, but still put together. :)

In the top picture, I'm sporting my C9 Champion Women's Cardio jacket from Target. My muscle tank is from Victoria's Secret PINK. This one is no longer in stores, but you can find a variety of similar fun styles here

My running tights are from Victoria's Secret Sport line. You can find similar styles here. My running shoes are Women's Adrenaline GTS 14 by Brooks. You can find similar ones here

I find that by wearing fun, fitness clothing throughout the day, I'm ready and eager to workout out as soon as my work day is over. There's just something about being all dressed up and quite literally "ready to go", whether it's running or going for a long, scenic hike. <3

Neon & On & On

Neon is definitely a fun, Summer trend that everyone should try! I know that it can be a bit daunting to wear, so I personally love mixing my favorite neon items with neutral colors. Not only do neutrals make the neon pieces feel more wearable, but it also makes it them pop even more than they already do!

Today, I've layered my favorite lightweight, oversized black sweater from H&M, with a long, neon camisole top also from H&M. My faux leather jacket is from NY&Co. (Similar jacket here.) Lastly, I'm wearing my favorite, high-rise jeggings from American Eagle

On my feet, I'm wearing my favorite neon yellow crochet Toms. These are unfortunately no longer available on the website. I was actually able to snag these at a super low price, at a warehouse sale just last year.

Lastly, around my neck, I'm wearing the amazing Adia Kibur Neo Pendant Necklace from LeTote. I love the way the bright touch of chartreuse looks with the gold. Don't you agree? ;)

Cloudy with a Chance...

It's still been chilly and overcast here in the Bay Area. I really hope things warm up very soon, but in the meantime, I've been enjoying layering and embracing these few extra weeks of sweater weather before Summer arrives.

Today, I've paired my favorite BB Dakota Bertona Ombre Sweater from LeTote with my black maxi skirt from Old Navy and my faux leather jacket from H&M. My only wish is that it were a bit warmer, so I could show off my amazing sweater!

I braved the cold for a few seconds to give you guys a closer look at the ombre from navy to a pale grayish blue. I also love the way the sweater's slit open back looks layered over my black maxi skirt.

The faux leather jacket gives the overall feminie look a bit of edge, which I love. I decided to rock a side braid today, since I was too afraid to deal with my hair in the case that it started raining. LOL I'm also wearing the Adia Kibur Feather Wreath Necklace from LeTote

Last but definitely not least, I wanted to share my new Black Suede Perforated Jutti Flats by TOMS. I can't stress how comfortable these flats are! They were a bit tight on the sides of my feet the first day I wore them, but by my 2nd wear, they fit perfectly. I've been meaning to buy a new pair of comfy black flats, so I'm glad how well this purchase panned out. :)

Breakfast at Tiffany's

When I received the French Connection Viven Dress in my latest LeTote, I was ecstatic! Though I tend to go for a more business casual look for the office, I was very eager to dress up more than usual just so I could wear this beautiful, classic black dress. Again, with the help of my friend, co-worker, & fellow blogger, Stephanie of, I present my Breakfast at Tiffany's inspired outfit. For this photo shoot, we grabbed coffee & a croissant then channeled our inner Audrey Hepburn.

I love the mesh shoulders and rib cage cut outs on the LeTote French Connection Viven Dress. Since it's still a bit chilly in the Bay Area, I'm wearing Express Sheer Honeycomb Full Tights, and my gold toed, black flats are from Cathy Jean. (Not available online, but you may be able to find them still in stores!)

Now for a closer look at my accessories! My multi-strand, pearl necklace is from New York & Company. (Similar necklace here.) My pearl bracelet was a gift from friends in the Philippines, but you can find a similar one for yourself here. I have Essie - Watermelon on my nails. Needless to say, I felt effortlessly chic the entire work day. ;)

On Wednesdays we wear PINK!

Pink is the ultimate color to sport when you want to immediately feel more feminine. I don't wear pink very often, but when I do, I make sure to balance the girly hue with a bit of edge. I also make sure it's a Wednesday! ;)

For today's outfit, I've paired my favorite hot pink pencil dress with a black, faux leather jacket, patterned sweater stockings, and wingtip oxfords. I love the feminine, yet edgy chic look of the pieces when matched together.

My dress and jacket are both from H&M. I bought them a few years back, so you unfortunately won't be able to find the exact same ones in stores. You can find a similar dress here and a similar faux leather jacket here.

My patterned sweater tights are from Target (similar ones here), and my super comfortable, black wingtip oxfords are from Old Navy. In case you were wondering why I'm still wearing tights in the Spring, you probably won't see me strutting around with bare legs anytime soon. Though the sun is out most days, it's still been very windy and chilly here in the Bay Area.

Lastly, here's a closer look at my shoes and my lovely faux leather backpack from Forever 21 that I proudly wear to work every day. (Similar backpack here.) Also, if you can't tell, I was channeling my inner Eva Chen with this last pose! <3

Special thank you to my amazing photographer Stephanie of!

Earn Your Stripes

In my opinion, stripes are a definite closet staple. A simple striped shirt to fun striped accessories can add some pizzazz to any dull wardrobe. Even though people tend to stay away from horizontal stripes out of fear of looking like a french mime or the hamburglar, I think when paired with the right pieces, a striped clothing item can completely transform your outfit.

I've paired a simple white and black horizontal striped dress from Old Navy (Similar dress can be found here.) and a military-inspired, utility vest from American Eagle. My cut-out, wedge booties are from Forever 21. I bought all of these items over a year ago, so I'm so sorry that I don't have any direct links!

My Noir Luxe Eye of the Night necklace and Adia Kibur Stockholm Bracelet are from LETOTE. I love the way these two pieces add a touch of glitz and sparkle to my outfit. I also have Essie's Peach Daiquiri on my nails. <3

Don't be afraid to mix Fashion trends that others expect to clash! Be fearless when it comes to your personal style. I honestly believe that you don't need to spend a ton of money to look effortlessly chic. My favorite outfits are usually inspired by pieces I already own. When a new season and new trends roll around, you'll always find me pulling pieces from the back of my closet, hoping to mix and match pieces for a new, unique look, before I even spend a single dime. ;)

Special thank you to my photographer Stephanie of

... Bring May Flowers

SURPRISE! Today's outfit of the day ties into yesterday's blog post. "April Showers..." WAIT FOR IT "... Bring May Flowers". Again, my photographer was the lovely Stephanie of, so be sure to check out her Floral outfit of the day too!

So I already know what you're thinking...

Not so fast! Though Florals are a typical Spring trend you see year after year, I can't stress enough how difficult it can be to find the right Floral pattern for you. Large flowers, small flowers, brights, pastels... it's easy to get overwhelmed. Plus, the perfect floral for you may not be another's same cup of tea. That's what I personally love about Floral. The variety allows it to always feel new and exciting every time Spring rolls around again. Now, let's get into my outfit!

I never let the sunshine fool me! To guard myself from potential Spring wind chills, I usually throw a denim vest over all of my favorite casual dresses. My vest is from American Eagle, and you can find a very similar one here. I also bought my dress last Fall from American Eagle. I'm a little embarrassed to say that it's been living in my closet with tags attached, since it arrived in the mail. I can't pass up a good deal, so I tend to go HAM on end of season clearance sales.

I purchased my sandals from Target last Summer, but you can find similar ones here. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll also know that I've been hitting the nail salon regularly to keeps my nail polish looking fresh! I currently have Essie - Watermelon on my toes. :)

Pictured above is my Floral Nautical Necklace from LETOTE. I love pairing more dainty jewelry like this when sporting bolder prints. In the picture below, you can get a closer look at the gorgeous crochet overlay on my dress as well as the pastel pink and blue rose pattern.

Although I love wearing layers in the Fall and Winter, the warmer weather has gotten me excited to pull out my Spring and Summer pieces from the back of my closet. I love rediscovering clothes I already own and including them in a whole new outfit that I've never considered before.

April Showers...

Although Spring is "technically" here, I've definitely had my fair share of rainy days this month, living in the San Francisco Bay Area. With the help of my lovely friend, co-worker, & fellow blogger, Stephanie of, I'm here to share one of my favorite rainy day outfits.

To contrast the grey, gloomy weather, I love adding some color to my day using my outfit. This NY&Co. houndstooth coat is an absolute favorite of mine, and it's definitely a closet staple that I plan to keep for years to come. It's made a comeback every Fall and Winter since 2010.  I love paring classic, neutral patterns like the houndstooth of my coat with bright pieces!

My sweater, umbrella, & nails add that wonderful, colorful splash that I need to get through a rainy day. The bright colors also help allow this outfit to transition from Winter to be suitable for those early springtime showers. My bright citron sweater is from Old Navy. My purple umbrella was a gift from my mom, but you can find a similar one here. My bright, coral nail polish is by Essie - Peach Daiquiri.

Hope my outfit inspires you to bring a little color into your next rainy day! Until the sunshine is here to stay, I'm still having fun throwing together some fun outfits from items I already own in my closet. :)

Are you an ipster yet?

As a lover of all things Beauty, constantly searching for the latest and greatest skincare, haircare, and cosmetics can get very expensive. When it comes to purchasing new products, quality is tremendously important to me. Though I’m more than happy to spend more money on great products, I’m definitely more inclined to finding the items that give me the most bang for my buck. This is where ipsy comes in! With so many products out there, ipsy allows me to nurture my love of discovering new Beauty products without burning a hole in my pocket.

November 2013 "Glam It Up" Glam Bag

The generously sized samples and full-sized products I get in my monthly ipsy Glam Bags allow me to fully test out the products. These are certainly not free, foil packet sized samples that only allow for single use. Each month, ipsy features a new Glam Bag with 4 to 5 deluxe sized Beauty samples and at least one full-sized product, all in an awesome, ipsy-exclusive makeup bag. My Glam Bags have featured samples from well-known brands, such as Urban Decay, bareMinerals, and Tarte, as well as newer, small, upcoming brands. After finding the products that I love most in any given month, I love how ipsy offers special discount codes on as well as in a monthly Glam-a-Gram email. This way, I can buy the full-sized products at more reasonable prices. Sometimes items I have my eye on are even included as awesome ipsy Offers, amazing promotions from the brands previously featured by ipsy, that are available in limited quantities and are launched every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

April 2014 "Beauty Rocks" Glam Bag

Though ipsy is about trying new things, ipsy uses a personalization tool called ipsyMatch to find the best bag combination for you out of the products available for the month. When you initially sign up, you take a Beauty Quiz to record your Beauty preferences and physical attributes. Using your Beauty Quiz answers and feedback given on your Glam Bag on, ipsy is able to choose the products that will make you happiest. So if you’re not an adventurous Beauty sampler like I am, rest assured that as time goes on, retaking your Beauty Quiz and reviewing the products your receive can only improve your items chosen by ipsyMatch.

September 2014 "Street Style" Glam Bag

When you share your love of ipsy with the Beauty lovers in your life, you’re rewarded with awesome bonus goodies. The ipsy Points program allows you to earn Points for referring friends and family, as well as sharing your Glam Bag goodies to your Social Media Channels. I’ve gotten a great deal of referrals and have earned enough Points in the past to redeem for several bonus items included in previous Glam Bags.

April 2015"Beautifully Bohemian" Glam Bag

Needless to say, I love everything about ipsy, from the awesome monthly goodies to the fabulous community of passionate Beauty loving ipsters. But don’t just take my word for it, you need to try ipsy for yourself! For only $10 a month, there’s not much to lose. Repair, Refresh, & Renew with Even Glow Vitamin C Face Serum!

All Winter long, with the low temperatures in the Bay Area, I've been looking for new, moisturizing products for my skincare routine. As most of your already know, I love products that keep my skin looking its absolute best! Thanks to BrandBacker and Valentia Skincare, I've added this Even Glow Vitamin C face serum to my daily skincare routine.

After washing and toning my face, I simply shake the bottle lightly for a couple of seconds, and then apply it to my face, neck, and decollete. I prefer to place it in small dots all over my face and quickly, but gently rub it in with my fingertips.

I've been using it throughout the month of February, and I've seen a noticeable difference in my face after incorporating into my evening skincare routine. While I sleep, it helps even my skin tone, boost collagen production, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, so I wake up with amazing, hydrated skin. Even if you don't have dry skin like mine, Valentia Even Glow Vitamin C face serum is suitable for all skin types. My sister who has oily, acne-prone skin has been using the serum as well. Don't just take my word for it! Pick up your own bottle today! :)

My "Spa Sunday" Ritual & InstaNatural's Dead Sea Mud Mask

Sunday evenings are my favorite time to use a mask. With the new, impending work week, I like to light a candle, draw myself a nice bath and pamper myself. This "Spa Sunday" ritual has allowed me to try out several different masks, which leads me to the amazing mask that I want to share with you all today. My current favorite, go-to mask is InstaNatural’s Dead Sea Mud Mask.

After cleansing my face, I apply a thin layer on my face. I let it dry for 10 to 15 minutes. As the mask dries, it absorbs excess oil, dirt, and toxins from my pores. Also, being a runner, there are days where I apply the mask to my legs, which actually helps relieve my aching muscles. On top of muscle relief, it leaves my legs looking fabulous!

This mask is awesome for all skin types! I have dry, sensitive skin, but I’ve let my sister try out this mask as well, and she has oily, acne prone skin. We used this mask together this past Sunday, while watching the Oscars. She loved it just as much as I did! So if you want to join me in my Sunday evening ritual, or you’re just looking for a new mask to try, I suggest picking up your own InstaNatural Dead Sea Mud Mask! :)

Special thanks to BrandBacker and InstaNatural for sponsoring this post.

Youth Express Eye Gel Review

I know some of you may think I'm crazy, considering that I'm only 28, but I'm a firm believer in that it's never too early to start maintaining your skin. I love products that keep my skin looking fresh! Thanks to BrandBacker and InstaNatural, I've added this amazing Youth Express Eye Gel to my daily skincare routine. :)

On top of being fabulous for your eye area, it works well on your entire face. The formula is enriched with plant stem cells (preventing premature signs of aging), Matrixl 3000 (tightening and firming skin), Hyaluronic Acid (deeply moisturizing), and other awesome ingredients including jojoba oil, aloe, vitamin E, and amino acid complex cucumber hydrosol.

In my skincare routine, I apply the gel after washing and toning my face. In the mornings, I apply it only to my under eye area, and in the evenings, I apply it all over my face to help my skin rejuvenate while I sleep. There's nothing better than waking up to a glowing complexion! I find myself embracing my no makeup days even more than usual now.

Special thanks to BrandBacker and InstaNatural for sponsoring this post.

My 28th Birthday Celebration: Mean Girls Party!

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that for my 28th birthday on January, 2nd, I threw an awesome Mean Girls party to celebrate with my friends. I created my own Burn Book, prepared a Mean Girls inspired menu, played Mean Girls trivia with movie inspired prizes, and made each one of my guests a customized mug with their favorite quote to take home. Keep reading if you'd like some inspiration on how to throw your own Mean Girls Party! :)

Burn Book
No Mean Girls party would be complete without a Burn Book to comment on all of your friends. I started with a Pretty Pink Smash Folio that I purchased from my local Target in the scrap booking section. I then added some awesome Mean Girls stickers with my favorite movie quotes from RedBubble

As my friends arrived, I took their picture with my Polaroid 300 Instant Camera, quickly developed their photos, and added them to the book. If you're wondering at all, my Smash folio came with a dual ended pen and glue stick. ;) Once all the ladies were added, we passed the book around with my Smash pen and other sharpies for the girls to add comments. You can see my page pictured above!

Mean Girls Inspired Menu
As you can see above, I displayed the Mean Girls inspired dinner menu in a simple frame for an instantly chic look. I bought a few of these frames years ago from Target, specifically to use them when hosting parties.

For the actual menu, I took my favorite food related quotes from the movie and created a "PUN"ny selection of dishes for my friends to enjoy, including:
Enough "Cheese & Crackers" for 8 People
We Should Totally Just Stab "Caesar Salad"
Amber Delessio Made Out with a "Hot Dogs"
Whatever. I'm Getting "Cheese Fries"
Do You Wanna Go To "Taco Bell"?

Taking more inspiration from the movie, I decided to bake "Cupcakes Filled With Rainbows & Smiles" for us to eat and be happy! :D As you can see pictured below, instead of having a typical birthday cake, I displayed the cupcakes on a tiered cupcake stand I borrowed from my mom.

To make a rainbow effect for the cupcakes, I used a single box of Duff Goldman's Tie-Dye Premium Cake Mix. I separated the white cake batter into 6 bowls then dyed each bowl a different color, according to the directions on the box. I spooned the different colors into each cupcake liner, making sure to not stir the colors together. I was a little skeptical of my baking abilities, but they turned out AMAZING!

Last but definitely not least, I set up a You Go Glenn "Cocoa & Coffee" Bar. I gave my friends the option of customizing their own cup of cocoa or coffee, adding alcohol being completely optional of course! ;)

I separated and displayed the various cocoa and coffee toppings in standard and blue mason jars. There were some great goodies to choose from, including: Candy Cane Hershey's Kisses, Fair Trade Chocolate, Peppermints, Hazelnut Milk Chocolate Pirouettes, & Candy Canes.

As I mentioned earlier, I made custom mugs for each attendee with a single "candy cane gram" to thank them for being such a great friend. Each mug had their favorite movie quote and first initial in pink! I simply wrote on the mugs with oil-based Sharpie paint pens, then popped them into the oven to bake for 30 minutes. They turned out adorable, and the ladies loved having these to use for their drinks and take home! :)

Mean Girls Trivia
After the Girls were full and were settled with their cocoa and coffee, we finally watched Mean Girls. Following the movie, I had the girls separate into teams of 2 or 3 to answer some fairly difficult movie trivia. As I'm a huge fan of the movie, I wanted to be sure there was a clear winning team. Here's a link to some example questions. The winning team had the choice between two different prizes by answering the following question: "Do you wear pink on Wednesdays or are moderately priced soaps your calling?" Depending on the response, they either won a Victoria's Secret PINK gift card or a Bath & Body Works gift card.

The party was an overall success, and I couldn't think of a better way to spend my 28th Birthday! Hope my party ideas inspire you to throw your own Mean Girls Party, whether it's your birthday, a friend's birthday, or just October 3rd. Let me know in the comments below if you do decide to throw your own small get together! I'd love to know how it goes! In the words of the infamous Regina George, "Love ya!" xx
